Musical Journey and Achievements

Hrishikesh Majumdar is a remarkably talented and proficient young flute artist, celebrated as a prodigy in the world of Indian classical music. Beginning his musical journey at the tender age of 6, Hrishikesh has been under the tutelage of his father and guru, the legendary Pt. Ronu Majumdar. His mother, Mrs. Anandi Bula Majumdar, provided his initial vocal training, which was later honed under the guidance of Guru Pandit Vikas Kashalkar.

Hrishikesh holds a Master's degree in Music from Bharati Vidyapeeth University and proudly represents the Maihar Gharana Binkaari style. His performances encompass the Dhrupad style alaap, Jod Jhaala, and Ghatkari, showcasing his versatility with Thumri, Dadra, and folk music. A decorated artist, Hrishikesh won first prize in the Swar Sadhana Samiti for Instrumental Music at the national level. His memorable jugalbandi with his father at Goa Fest 2019 was a standout performance.

Innovative Contributions and Collaborations

Beyond classical music, Hrishikesh Majumdar has made significant contributions to contemporary music, including composing for projects like "Seven Colours of Life." He pioneered the innovative concept of "Flute Trance," a fusion of Indian classical music with trance, which garnered widespread acclaim. Regularly performing solo concerts and collaborations, Hrishikesh has graced prestigious festivals both in India and internationally.

Hrishikesh has had the privilege of performing with eminent musicians such as Ustad Taufiq Qureshi, Vidushi Bombay Jayashri, Vidwan Rajhesh Vaidya, Vidushi Anuradha Pal, Vidushi Aruna Sairam, and Vijay Prakash Ji. Notably, he has performed at the Amazon Summit's 10th-year celebration and the inaugural celebration for Google. Hrishikesh continues to enchant audiences with his extraordinary talent, contributing to both the classical and contemporary music landscapes with passion and innovation.
